Rosemary ham can be found in your store deli which has Boarshead cold cuts. My favorite, however, which I would use for this, is Sundried Tomato Ham, by Boarshead. Wonderful. White sauce is traditionally butter, flour and milk, salt and pepper, cooked in steps (butter, flour first, then slowly whisk in the milk). Being more plant-based, we don’t eat butter or white things (processed). I make our white sauce with whole wheat flour, coconut oil or a plant-based spread, Almond Milk, salt and pepper. Delicious. For red sauce, in coconut oil saute some garlic and onions, and I use green peppers, all chopped fine, then add fresh or canned chopped tomatoes, salt, pepper and simmer. If you want a smooth sauce, use a “stick,” an emulsifier to smooth it out….or use a good old fashioned richer to smash it all down, gently! Try it all and good eating, the healthy way.
