We have put together a Frequently Asked Questions page for our website and thought we should kick it off with a blog! Here are the top 5 questions we get asked, in no particular order.

  1. How is our pizza different than the competitors?

We consider our closest competitors to be any pizza made with cauliflower. With that being said, our pizza crust is different because it is not only made with cauliflower being the number one ingredient, but it is also very low in ingredients. At Cali’flour Foods, we believe simplicity is one of the best approaches to health. The smaller the ingredient list, the better.

In addition to the above mentioned details, our crust is also very flavorful. Some of our competitors offer a crust with minimal cauliflower, either powdered or pureed, whereas our crust uses the real thing. This actually enhances the flavor. The unique taste of cauliflower is complemented perfectly with our choice of supporting ingredients.

Our crust is the largest of its kind on the market, with the best price per ounce deal compared to the competitors.

  1. What else can I make beside pizza with a Cali’flour crust?

The options are increasing all the time! We have had successful meals using the crust for lasagna, sandwich bread, chips, avocado toast, quiche, and more to come! We are always experimenting with new and fun ways to use the crust. Check out our Instagram for inspiration!

  1. How do I make my pizza crust crispier?

There are a few ways to do this. Our greatest suggestion is to use the pizza pan we offer on our site! But if you don't have that pan, we have some other great suggestions! One is to briefly broil the crust, but keep a close eye! They can burn quickly with this method.

Another safer and more effective way is to use a pizza pan, the kind with the holes on the bottom. Using a sheet of parchment paper on the pizza pan, cook at 350º-400º for five to 15 minutes, depending on how crispy you like your crust, flipping the crust half way through. This method typically results in a very even, pleasantly crispy crust and is merely a different way to do your necessary pre-bake.

  1. When will my order arrive?

We allow 5 days to process your order. After your order has been processed, we will ship your package to you using USPS Priority Mail. This transit time takes anywhere from 2 to 3 days from the time it leaves our facility. When your order has been scanned and placed on the carrier truck, you will receive an email notification with all of your tracking information included! We look forward to hearing that your package arrives to you safe and sound!

  1. Is it okay if my crust doesn’t arrive frozen? And can I freeze it?

We try to be sure that everyone knows that our pizza crusts are a fully-baked product. Since they contain no raw ingredients, they are safely packaged to arrive shelf-stable and without need for any cooling components. Our products are free of preservatives so we do ask that you freeze the crusts that you do not plan to use right away! This will extend shelf-life where they can be kept for up to 9 months!

Thank you for taking the time to learn a little bit about us and our process! We encourage you to continue to ask questions and also check out our FAQ if you haven't already for more information! Don't forget to also take a peek at our Store Locator to find stores near you. We are consistently adding new ones all the time, so keep a look out!

Hello Tracy! Every once in a while we hear of people having trouble with the crusts sticking a pan. Typically we find that it is due to not seasoning the pan. One option that really removes the issue and makes it easier on cleanup is to use baking parchment between the pan and the crust. It will have no impact on the crust getting crispy. Please let us know if you have any further problems! Our customer care email is hello@califlourfoods.com

Hello Jeanene! We recommend baking them directly from the freezer. It makes them easier to handle and doesn’t impact the baking time at all. Wish you all the best!

Do I cook the crust from frozen or defrosted

I made your crust for the first time and used your pizza pan. I preheated the oven to 375 and then baked the crust according to the instructions. Over half the crust stuck to the pan. What do you think I did wrong? I purchased several more crusts, so I’m trying to understand how to properly cook one without sticking. It tasted wonderful, but the sticking crust was a pain to get off the pan.

Hello Ashley! Thank you for responding to the blog! Due to the proprietary nature of our product, we cannot disclose our amount of vegetables in each serving as it can be used to reverse engineer our recipes. Feel free to check out the Nutrition Facts portion of our site though (located in the menu bar above), as it can offer you insight into the ingredients and the breakdown for each of our products. We wish you all the best!

Hey,

I didn’t read the lable and my Cauliflower foods crust has been sitting on my shelf for 2 months unrefridgerated… I took it out today to cook and noticed that it says to freeze upon delivery.

Is there any chance that it’s still good to eat or should I leave it in the plastic and toss it?

Two questions: 1. Do you ship to Hawaii? 2. Why don’t you use organic cauliflower to make it even healthier?
Thank you

Hi Marissa! We wanted to be sure that you know that our package contains two crusts. Each serving is 1/3 of a crust. Since there are two crusts in each package, the total quantity is 6 servings per container! We hope this helps! Have a lovely day!

Hello! I have a question about the nutrition information. On the Itilain Crust it says that there are 6 servings but also 1/3 of the crust = 1 serving. Does that mean there are 6 slices = 1 crust and the nutrition information is for 1/3 of the entire pie?
