New Year, New You!
Have your social media feeds been buzzing with New Year’s Resolution challenges yet? Well, get prepared, because it’s coming! Only time will tell what sort of trending ideas will come into play for 2017 but we all can bet on one big resolution challenge:
We are on the frontline of this adventure. At Cali’flour Foods, we want to encourage you to be your healthiest ever for 2017. It’s a New Year, New You kind of deal.
According to the statistics, only 8% of those who make a resolution actually achieve their goal. The struggle is real, and we think we know why.
This healthy thing isn’t easy! Not by yourself. This year, we want to help you with some tips to make your resolution is a success without having to sacrifice your sanity to do so!
Put together a small accountability team of good friends. Even just one accountability partner is a huge help. Make a goal. Something real. Start small, you can always go big once you achieve the small steps or create new, fun challenges. Communicate. Schedule a time to check in with each other or text at random, “How’d you do today?”. Most importantly, don’t run away from the wagon just because you fell off it! Get back on and keep going.
Chronicle your adventure. Keep a journal. Write down your routines for food, exercise, or anything at all that comes to mind. This will be your inspiration and your helping hand. Keeping a journal is a subtle way of keeping yourself on track.
Take it one step at a time. Don’t overload yourself with too much, it may only set you up for failure. You may falter, and that’s okay! Give yourself a break.
Make it as easy as possible. There’s no need to give yourself extra work if you don’t have to. When we created our pizza crust, we did so in order to make it easy for people to lose weight and be healthy, because it works! Granted, there are some things that will not be easy and that’s a good thing. Everyone needs a challenge. But no one needs a constant challenge. At the same time, pay close attention to the corners you decide to cut. Are they the right ones? Will it benefit you?
Take the time to really play it out. Use your accountability team for feedback. Write it down so you have a record of what worked and what didn’t.
Lastly, we encourage you to write the words New Year, New You everywhere you can as a daily reminder. Put sticky notes on the fridge or on the steering wheel. Make it your phones screen saver or background image. Heck, record yourself saying it to your phone and use it for your alarm! The options are endless.
Here’s to a New Year. Here’s to a New You.
Happy New Year!
